About my Father Blog

Based on the first paragraph i think she wrote this to tell us how Jackie broke the color barrier in baseball and how it affected the future.

The barrier prevented blacks from baseball because everyone didn’t think black people could play in the majors. But when Jackie came in he proved to everyone how black ball players could be just as good as white ball players.

His stats with sports at UCLA were important because that told Branch Rickey that he’s used to playing with everyone and is comfortable playing sports with other Jackie’s stats with the Monarchs were important to see if he was a good ball player. They needed a good ball player since they were making a big move.

It was important for Mr. Rickey to make sure Jackie had strength of character because he couldn’t have someone lose his temper over every little thing. He needed someone who can keep his cool under any circumstances.

I could tell he succeeded in breaking the barrier because the article said that there are people coming from all around the world to play baseball in the majors. Not just white american ball players.

Poem Reflection

I think poems should have a deeper meaning than what it actually sounds like. Poems shouldn’t be just a random piece of writing that doesn’t make sense. Two people write peoms way differently. One makes it really hard to understand and the other makes it rhyme and have a deep meaning behind it.

Blog Title: 42 Reflection

Discrimination to me is when people leave other people out because of how they look or how they think. Discrimination has been happening for like ever and is still happening today. Jackie Robinson faced discrimination because the white people didn't want a black person in the majors.

Someone who faced discrimination was Rosa Parks. She wanted to sit on the bus but someone told her to move just because she was black. She didn't move. She got arrested just because she didn't move to the back of the bus.
